The first season without the GOAT Tom Brady was never predicted to be an easy transition for the Patriots but great coaching and quick player development has this team on a 6 game win streak.
It did not start pretty with the very first play of the season was a wild interception by QB Jacoby Brissett. The Pats in the first game of the season were dominated and embarrassed by the division Rival Buffalo Bills who won easily 24-7. The Pats offense was atrocious with only 88 passing yards and their best player Rob Gronkowski didn’t have a single catch. At this time fans were questioning if the coaching stuff made the right choice selecting Brissett at the QB to lead this team over Jimmy Garoppolo.
” Sometimes the only way you can learn to become better is to learn through adversity and focus on your game and execute ”
Week 2 of the season didn’t look much better with 2 more interceptions for Brissett but the Patriots defense stepped up with 3 huge redzone turnovers over the Oakland Raiders on the road to pull out a 10 – 7 defensive match up. But then something changed after a few games under the belt and some hard practices Jacoby and the offense got it going Week 3 vs the Miami Dolphins. Jacoby had 242 with 2 tds and more important they got their #1 target Gronk going with a solid day of 6 rec and 79 YDS.
Since then the offense has been clicking and one of the hottest in the league as the stats will show:
- Week 5 vs KC Brissett 348 yds, 6 TDS Gronk 9 Rec 127 YDS and 3 TDs
- Week 6 vs NYJ Brissett 310 yds, Dion Lewis 105 rushing, 2 TDs, Gronk 171yds TD
- Week 7 vs Bills Brissett 419 yds 2 Tds, Fowler 120 YDS rec, Bennett 4 for 85 yds
